Ok So I have benn having a major leak in the lude. So I get frisky today and start to do some troubleshooting. As soon as I pull the carpet up I was about to puke because of the stench. So I decided to go Monster Garage on the prelude and pulle dout the whole interior and clean everything.

OK my first thought HOLY ****!!!! My second ahhh F@#$!!!!
The problem is it is not the leak. I dont have a problem with that side. I actually found ther leak on the passenger side and hope to have that fixed.

But now I have this huge delema on my hands. Where and how the hell did this happen? I dont know. What you guys and gals think? Think its gonna hurt anything to drive it? What to do to fix it?

Wow. Does your car have a salvaged title? Bottom out on something sharp (previous owner maybe)?

 

No fully clean title. The car has been in like 3 small fender benders 2 of them while I had it but none my fault. Nothing has been around that area.

I am pretty sure I didnt do that. I think I would have known. Maybe the previous owner. I dont know. All I do know is that its scary to look at

its under the driver seat? can't you get that rewelded?

 

Kinda looks like somebody tried to jack it up under the seat

 

Looks like it's dropped off the jack at some time onto a fixed hard object to have ruptured the skin like that, it should flatten down ok then get it plated and welded and fully rustproofed same under the car and you should be good from then on.

 

yeah its preyty bad. I will bring it to a welding shop to have them fix it and I will rustproof it myself.

Yeah it shouldnt be a problem. It doesnt seem like you'll be able to tell when its all back in.

Doing the guessing game on somehting like this is quite hard. I had something exactly like that but a bit smaller. What happened is that some truck i was floowing dropped something heavy and made out of metal. I ran over it and it tore part of my undercarriage.

Have you looked undernieth the car for any evidence of something like that?

You'd figure a slash like that you would have noticed as it happened. That thing's right under the seat rail!
Only time I've seen something similar there was a wreck involved. Prelude hydroplaned down an embankment that had football sized rocks scattered about, and one of them left a ridge from the edge of the car (passenger door) to roughly the same spot as your slash, only on the other side. It didn't poke all the way through, but is was close.
Probably all that construction on Bemiss Rd. got you

 

wow how do you know about bemis rd??? well That was the scary thing is that I am pretty sure I would have known when that happend.

When I do ym motor swap this weekend I will take a look undernesth the car and see if I can figure out what happend

yeah check underneath for a ridge and see how close you came to getting yourself ripped a new one.

The gas tank is farther towards the back of the car.

Close I am pulling the h23vtec out cause I got a shitty build and putting in a jdm h22, fixing the h23vtec and using it for something else down the road or selling it off
