AC Compressor kicks on and off randomly

im having the same prolem , except for my a/c I have to keep it on the highest level so the compressor can stay one, me and my freind beilive its caused by the gray can which is a filter, that could be clogged, I never got around to changing it myself to see if it was the problem. also maybe you could be runing low on freon?or compressor is going bad

hey guys, thats what an ac compressor does. Its called cycling. What it does is an electromagnetic clutch kicks in which causes the compressor to kick in, also, thats when your car looses power, they cycle so that your car isnt always being drained, and so that there isnt an excessive loss of coolant juice.

LOL I just spent about $500 at Honda and other places trying to fix the exact same problem.
Here is the bad news, it is the AC thermostat which is in the evaporator under the dash.
The freon needs to be drained before you can take it out. I believe the part was $30 form Honda, then about $135 for them to do it. Not too bad.

did the have the replace the gray round canister? is that what you mean?
