hey wats up guys, i have a crx wit a ls block n 97 gsr head, car runs very very strong but theres one problem. i had my ecu chipped, now the car has 4500 vtec and 8500 rev limit. i also have a vtec controller. after my car is running for awhile, the check engine light goes on, n my ecu indicator light just stays on. the performance of the car isn't altered at all, what can it be???

 

so you are saying the led on the ecu is solid and does not blink or does it blink codes. if it blinks codes read them and see what the issue is. if it does not blink it is possible the chip or the install of the chip is bad.

 

it does not blink, just stays on, but the car still runs the same

 

did this happen with the vtec controller on or after you had that installed. still might be a bad chip or socket job. talk to whoever might have done the job or if you can plug another ecu in and see if that ecu has a solid engine light

Bump, because the rex I am buying has teh same problem with pw0, I would like to know if there is a remedy. No vtec controller on this one though, possibly bad ecu? Check engine light does NOT come on with a pr3 in it.

 

this is for both of you. either ecu is bad or maybe the chip is bad.
