Umm...not really to sure. But I think the VTEC is supposed to kick in around 4K on a 95 accord.

You dont really feel it kick in on that motor. Its engagment is variable depending on the throttle position.

really the best way is to listen. windows down, radio off. at about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle, it usually kicks in at about 4500 for me. you'll feel a very slight harder pull and it will sound a bit louder. the sound is more pronounced when you have an intake on it

I can't really tell on my buddies accord (JakeIsCool) on this forum.

Some people have wired up an LED to the positive wire to the solenoid, but I would not bother.

you can wire up things so when vTec hits it lights up. Or you can have this number type thing, that when you hit vTec the number changes example from 1 to 2 lol..

to paraphrase that chart....vtec can engage anywhere over 2k, depending on throttle position (this is ONLY for the SOHC F series vtec)

removing the intake resonator will really make it noticable when your vtec kicks in

I have always been able to feel it kick in... but at least on my car, it won't kick in as much if i don't let the engine warm up to normal temp.

my vtec solenoid check engine light comes on at about 3200 rpm, so i guess most f22b1 engines engage vtec at around 3200. which brings me to a problem myself, WHERE IS THE VTEC SOLENOID!!!??? i have a 1994 honda accord coupe.

left hand side of the motor, under or, slightly behind the distributor...

easiest way to tell is to unbolt the header from the exhaust and just listen...if vtec is working, you will definitely hear it...

i like when you redline it w/ open ports and a warm engine......if the flames are large and they melt your radiator, then your vtec is working.....

anytime you remove a resonator material, the sound change will be more noticable...all unbolting the header or removing the intake resonator box will do is allow the engine to "sing" louder, and thus youll be able to "hear" vtec better
