Default Grinding aluminum w/o cloging?....

Does anyone here know of an abrasive disk that can be used on aluminum with out cloging?

I do have carbide burrs just no access to air tools at this time.

The only other option I can see is a 1/4" chuck conversion for a dremel. I have looked for these as well with no sucess. Has anyone heard of such a thing? tia

i don't see that there are any pictures, but it's a flap disc type abrasive that will attach to your angle grinder. it's good for stainless steel and aluminum. it looks like a flap disc with a plastic backing, the sand paper wears away with the plastic backing to last longer.
I highly recommend these for aluminum grinding and blending, they are the cats ***!

I ended up using an aluminum oxide wheel for ferrous metals. Yes it clogged up. However my neighbor told me to clean the wheel with a wire brush. Worked like a charm......

Never heard the wax trick, but WD40 has worked pretty well for me in the past - you keep it on there so that the hot aluminum doesn't get wedged against the bit long enough to cool and shrink against it, lodging there. With the film of WD40 and it's cooling properties, it pretty much prevents aluminum from adhering.

And, yes, flappers are the cat's ***! (I'm stealing that catchphrase, it's mine now )

So, uhm, what does a Kentucky boy need with aluminum grinding advice for, Mister Foowee? You make me curious.

There are steel and aluminum grinding disks. As well as steel and aluminum deburring bits.

Nothing too special yet. Just removing some superfluous block webbing for wg actuator clearance.

For the discs you were asking about visit http://www.mcmaster.com, search on page 2537. These are what we use here for grinding aluminum.
I'm not sure what brand MaMaster sells, but the ones we get are from MSC and are called Tiger Disc (which, I guess you would say, are the cat's ***).
