Default exospeed sleeved blocks vs. dart sleeved blocks

i noticed that the dart blocks are a solid deck while the exospeed ones dont seem to be, would the exospeed still be good enough to hold 20 psi?

Depending on the internals i would say it should def. support 20psi on most common turbos...i would make sure whoever installs them knows what they are doing and have a good track record..from what i have learned the sleeves are proven but the installers arent always as good.. dart blocks are just bad *** im not sure about every aspect but they are engineered to be raced and that tells you alot oh and i think most sleeves are open deck because of sleeve distortion problems...but dont quote me

Either one easily. I don;t know who Exospeed is using to sleeve blocks anymore, or if they have a deal with the new owners of RS Machine. Pretty much any sleeved block will be good as long as the install was done properly. Good luck.

If you are building a SOHC motor definately get in touch with turbodcx on here Brian, and also Howard form AR Fabrications, they have built a MONSTER of a SOHC! I will let him pot his newest #s if he wants. Just SICK though!

So far, the most we've seen through one of our blocks is 45 psi and 900+ HP. It will handle more. Ours is a dedicated casting, not a sleeved factory block. It is made to be a closed deck block from the start. It is also stronger through the main bearing area, and has enlarged water jackets.

You cannot determine how much a block can hold in psi. It will vary from turbo to turbo.

Nope, we only cast B18 and B20 blocks at this point.

Ryan is correct, boost has no correlation to the block.

That's probally why the person said 40 psi, cuz he knew it meant nothing in terms of hp numbers, but would appeal to the customer.

And I've also never seen anyone break the block on a sleeved stock motor, so why should I shell out another 800-900 bucks for a dart block?

YUP.....lol

Brians is now over 475whp!
Ours is still at 407whp...but on stock sleeves and no block guard....

BTW if your looking for a sleeve D block we have one in stock....

As far as the DART blocks...they are a whole different animal....Im sure some rumors about my recent dyno tuning and track rumors are floating around somewhere....

PS Brians recent runs with the D posted some sick MPH at 133+....this is with a 2.6 60 and no second gear shift!

lol.....45psi isnt much

Especially if its a small turbo.....its the airflow that matters... take for instance a 120#/min turbo at 45psi would make roughly 1000-1100whp....

But a 60#/min turbo at 45psi would only make 500-550whp..(if its not in its surge limit!)

Everyone needs to rate their stuff with HP not boost pressure! There are turbos out there that make 1000+whp at 20psi!...that doesnt mean your Sleeeved D'series is gonna take it...lol
