Default Intake question

I have this generic CAI in my car...i'm not really feeling a difference in performance...everyone talks about how AEM CAI works great....am i not feeling a difference because CAI's dont really boost hp that much? or is AEM really better than all the rest?

AEM offers the ram air intake thats why it produce more HP. because you're getting cool air all the time plus you're picking up more air when you drive into high speed also

the ram air intake is picking up hot air off the engine though....... there is no real difference in intakes on our cars, AEM claims to have the best returns on the dyno but with the HP increase being small it is hard for you to feel the difference between it and the generic brand in the car. With AEM you are buying quality and brand name. You know that their product is going to hold up.

I've got an AEM Short Ram Intake for sale. It's for 94-97 Accords, in mint condition. If you want a picture email me at albertj03@hotmail.com

Some intakes actually lose power. The AEM usually gains you a few in the mid to top end, but it's still usually not enough to feel. On our normally aspirated 4 bangers, it's the sum of your engine aspiration mods that make the power, not really any one particular part.

I have AEM on my 5thG accord. I feel the difference with the stock intake. I have put AEM and Injen intake on ITR also. They feel the same, but never dyno them. From what I red before, Injen makes more power than AEM, also Greddy ... but not sure .. AEM is good enough for my accord

IMO........

an intake is an intake....they are all the same. i am sure there is very little or no preformance related to them...about the only thing they are good for is to make intake noise!...sounds neat, that's about it....

besides, if you are really looking for performance, you wouldn't need a CAI..........b/c you would have INTERCOOLER piping up from your TURBO!!

Yeah i agree, every intake isnt indentical. The bends, the material its made out of and how well it resists heat do have an effect on performance the more you modify your car.
