Installing CD Player 99 civic
Hi guys this is my first post. i recently bought a 99 civic with a stock cd player included. The cd player does not like to read burned cds and i want to install a new cd player in there. The thing is the cd player configuration is weird. there is a radio control on top of the actual cd player unit that just has an eject button. the radio on top has the controls to the cd player on the bottom and i was wondering how a person goes about installing a new cd player in there if there is a radio and a cd player in two different spots. thank you so much for your information!!!!
you must have a radio unit with a slave cd player unit...i have a 99 factory cd player and it reads burn cd fine...the only think i can think of is how fast did you burn the cd??? i burnt my at 1x took a while but it works and it last a little bit longer in my opinion i have tried this on double units and single and it works....
i recently got my stock radio replaced with a kenwood deck in my 00 hatch - what you could do is got to curcuit city and buy the 00 civic installation kit and get a new wire harness. then take off ur center console and unplug and the wires goin to the fan and all of that stuff. plug in ur new wiring harness and pull out the old 1. use the tray they give you to place ur deck. screw everythin in andplug everythin in and put back on ur center console . OR u can do it the easy way and have curcity city do it. my friend works in the installition department and he did mine for free.

if you replace it with a after market stereo then yes,

thanks for the information guys i figured out what it would look like if they took out the cd player and replaced it with a tray but thats prolly what ill do thanks a lot for the info!!
did u try burning it as a aduio cd or a mp3 cd? i use nero also. i made the mistake of burning my cd as a mp3 and it didnt work in my car. so i tried audio cd and works like a charm
Get yourself a stock pocket for under your deck. Those aftermarket ones suck. It's a hole just barely big enough to fit your fingers in. If you ever put something small in there and it slides all the way to the bottom just forget about it. I'm going to check majestichonda.com for one right now to replace my shitty aftermarket one.
