Using an extension (on the socket) should not affect the torque.

Their was a thread on this somehwere. Type in the word torque on search. Their is a thread somewhere w/ the formula.

I would rather spend extra $$ on sockets just to be sure.

Your search for torque returned 970 results.

What do you mean spend the extra $ on sockets?

I meant insted of an adapter, just add the right size sockets for the wrech application so you won't have to bother doing a formula to get accurate torque readings.

For ex.

1/2" drive sockets for 1/2" drive wrenches. Get me?

I don't see any reason why using a socket adapter would change the torque. If he is talking about an extension like this, that's a different story.

I'm referring to the usual extensions. 3/8 for 3/8 extension.

So it does not affect the tq in anyway?

Snap-on wrenches give you formulas in their handbooks with the tq wrenches, i cant remember what i did with them though.
