Default vss accessiblity

my vss fell off the bolt today.. or at least i think so because of the crazy speedo that im getting when i go over bumps and stuff like that.. and espically when i hit vtec...

but do you really have to remove the intake and other things just to get at the vss??

yes
The vss is on top of the tranny and if ytou want to get to it you have to pull the intake and when I did it I moved my tranny cables out of the way too.

Its not hard at all. Also I dont think it "fell off of the bolt" since there ise 2 bolts that hold it in and the sensor runs off of a pin in the middle of the sensoe between the sensor and the tranny. YOu wouldnt get any kind of reading at all if the sensor broke off.

I bet the sensor is fine and its your cluster in the dash thats fubar

lol.. you might be right.. but i dont know.. because my dash works pretty fine.. and when i go over a bump.. the tach jumps with the bump.. so i was thinking it was my vss .. sometimes when its helal hot outside.. and i start driving my car.. when i brake.. my speedo goes crazy.. but then.. all the other things work..

bleah
i hope its not the cluster.. i hear thats PITA to replace

It's probably just the connector from the VSS to the wiring harness. Try playing with the connector and see if anything changes....That thing is in the perfect place to get coolant and other crap spilled on it...
