MAJOR starting problems
I have an '89 prelude (2.0 S), and decided it was time to try to fix my wind shield wipers cause it was raining super hard that day. so i pulled my car into the garage and popped the hood, looked under for about 15 minutes, decided what was wrong, ordered the part and let it sit there for about 1.5 hours. after i decided it was time to leave, i go to start it up and the engine cranks, but wont turn over all the way to start AT ALL. thought maybe some water was in the distributer or something, so i let it sit a day and nothing. checked the coil, still good. checked ignitor module inside the distributer, and thats good. any ideas?????????
i figured it out- it was the ignitor module unit inside the distributer- its a litltle like 4 dollar piece at the junkyard and its a big problem. my dad tested it and it said it was good, but we replaced it and that was the problem. it was either the coil or the ignitor unit and we tested and replaced both and the coil did nothing and the ignitor unit fixed it. thanks for nothing.
