How much do you want to spend?
For a basic street setup Eibach Sportline (1.5" drop, ~$230) + Koni "yellows" (~$400) do a great job.
IMO, typeR springs & shocks w/ rear LCA setup for GS-R is a great bargain. I mean your "friend" won't charge you that much for it right? It handles great and it doesn't scrape the road.
For an all-out race setup, I haven't got a clue.

For cheap springs at about $199 get H&R. They are specific to the Type R. If you have the stock Type R shocks they will be a good combo. Unfortunately, I could never find any spring rates for H&R. All they would list is the vehicle height drop.
I opted for some Spoon progressive springs. I may have paid too much for them ($300), but I feel confident that Spoon has put enough R&D into them that they are ideal for my car. (I have a Civic hatch hybrid)

I think a stock ITR spring/shock combo is going to ride better than a mixed and matched aftermarket suspension. Unless you are going to pay a large amount of $$ for a properly setup suspension, get a stock ITR setup. There is a slight drop compared to the GSR, a big improvement in handling, and like someone else already said, no problems with bottoming out on speed bumps.
A less expensive choice that seems to work well also are the Tein medium springs. They work very well and much less than Eibach in cost. They are also made for the ITR.
