Steering makes noises
The steering on my 95 accord LX sedan, makes some wierd noise when i turn. it started out as being intermitent, and now its becoming more frequent. Any ideas on what it could be??
Also remember too, if it is low on fluid and you add some, use ONLY Honda power steering fluid. It's different from regular p/s fluid, the regular stuff will make the rubber seals swell in the rack and it'll blow in no time flat. If the fluid is full but it's still making noise, then your pump is bad. If it's low though, then the low fluid level is most likely causing the noise, and it could be a leak in the rack, hoses and/or fluid cooler, or pump itself. Have to look and see if you find any leakage anywhere. Remember to feel the dust boots on the rack to see if they're filled with fluid or not (they shouldn't be! If they are, rack time!) I actually had a Windstar once where the seals in the rack went and it puffed those boots up so hard, they looked like they were about to burst, LOL. I'm really suprised they didn't... they were rock hard, hahah.
