Default cable clutch

i got a bone stock hatch and the previous owner said the clutch was replaced 3 years ago and he said it just needs to be adjusted and i have no idea how to do it, the car slips only when i step on it and i have been driving for a month with the clutch like this and it doesnt get any worse, so is the clutch even bad, or does he need to be adjusted

haha the clutch is probably beat. i bought my crx and the ******* said the clutch needed adjusted. one of the fingers on the PP had completely snapped off.

but theres a cable that leads to the front of your tranny. there will be a black lever/arm that the cable is attached to. tighten that up (the thing that screws up and down on the actual cable itself). hopefully that works. if not start browsin on ebay.

If it's slipping when you get on it then I doubt it's your cable.

When you press the clutch pedal the cable pull up on the arm that "5litereater" described. This opens the clutch up so it doesn't make contact to the flywheel.

The only way that it could be the clutch cable is if the cable was adjusted to be too tight. That would mean that the arm on the tranny was always lifted up a little so the clutch was always a little bit seperated from the flywheel.

If you lift up on the arm coming out of the tranny there should be very little play in it. To get rid of the play you would loosen the black **** that holds the cable in place. That's how it should be on a normal car, but yours should show the opposite effect if it really is that your cable isn't adjusted right. There should be absolutly no play at all at the tranny arm. You should have to tighten the **** in to release the cable tension.
