Default Odyssey Service light

While I plan on having the dealer service my odyssey during the warranty period, it bothers me that the ontly refrence I can find to how to turn of the service light/info when they do come on is by taking it to the dealer. I have scouwered the 2005 manual that I just purchased and every reference clearly states to take it to the dealer to have it reset.

There must be another way! Since I cannot find it in the manual, would someone kindly pass that info on?

I believe it is in the owner's manual but not in the shop manual. Here's what you do for a 98 Odyssey. With the ignition switch off, press the odometer reset button and hold it down, while turning on the ignition switch. Keep holding it down and and after about 10 seconds, the service engine light will go out.

Should be in the owners manual.

It's not in the owners manual. If they put in there, there would be nothing to annoy people into taking their cars into the dealer for service! Theojo got it right, with the key off, hold down the Set/Reset button and turn the key to On. Hold it until the light goes off. Same goes for every other Honda with a Set/Reset button except some Acuras.

On a simliar note, is there any way to pull the check engine codes myself? And is there a list of what they are somewhere?

Thanks,

You can either use an OBD2 scantool or jump pins 4 and 13 on the DLC and count the CEL blinks.
