Motor Mount Questions (regarding, how many, where, etc)
Looking to get some clarification. How many motor mounts are there and what are they? Also, is the transmission mount seperate from these motor mounts?
I am aware of the following:
- Drivers side motor mount
- Passengers side motor mount
- Rear motor mount
I had the drivers side and rear replaced by the dealer, but the car still doesn't feel good. Is it possible the passengers side is bad as well? they told me that doesn't take the load; rather the two they replaced do.
Also, is the transmission mount (I'm assuming like a motor mount, but for transmission??) different from the rear motor mount?
Looking for a general summary, thanks

driver side mount, passenger (tranny) mount, rear mount, front 2 lower torsion mounts.
Jimfab, prothane (i think) make the upper 2 driver/tranny mounts.
Prothane and energy suspension make inserts for the torsion mounts and the rear one.
I think there is also a rear replacement mount, can't remember who makes it though, maybe jimfab.

The tranny mount is probably one that should be looked at if you still feel there's slop in the drivetrain. It's a little bit of a PITA to get at and look at/replace but in my case that was the one which needed replaced most. Mine actually had a 1/2" crack in it which allowed lots of slop.
Yeah, I think it is the tranny one that is bad. The other two were bad according to Acura but I bet they didn't look at the other one due to it being hard to inspect.
My main symptom is when I let off or get on the gas at slower speeds (stop and go traffic is a good example) the car jumps around; almost as if I was hitting th egas then letting go, hitting the gas, then letting go. Sound like tranny mount symptoms?

You must be talking about the rear engine mount. The transmission and engine mount is the easiest to get to and check. Transmission mount is item 6 in that picture. Rear engine mount is item 8.
Basically you have 5 mounts. The front two are often called the torque mounts. They are attached to the front of the transmission via a bracket and on the other end it is attached to the AC bracket. Then you have your main engine mount on the driver's side. Item 9 in the picture. On the opposite end you have the transmission mount, item 6. Last but not least you have the rear engine mount, item 8. Item 8 and the two torque mounts will take most of the front to back, back to front motion, where as the transmission mount and the main engine mount will take side to side motion.
