Default looking for 5th gen. Any problems i should look for?

I am thinking of buying a 5th gen pref(00-01 sh) with <40k miles. Is there anything I should be aware of? Are Sh. parts harder more expensive to come by as oppose to base models? ~thanks in advance

wasnt this just covered?

prelude parts in general are more expensive and harder to find, but they dont break much, go honda....just make sure the engine is running well and have it checked out by a mechanic, i know you are going to get an SH so that means 5spd....but definatly dont an auto, i have heard horror stories about them, but since you are getting a 5spd you will be fine.

i dunno, try searching too man.

If you are planning to boost or build a monster of an N/A engine you should consider not getting the SH. I've heard that the ATTS(active torque transfer system) becomes useless when you go over 250whp or something close to that. Not sure on that # though. I if i were you i would look for a base model 5th gen, but get the 5speed... Dont make the mistake of getting the auto like i did

I would not choose the SS tranny. It is nice in busy traffic but lots of problems with them failing. I bought my Lude with the SS and I am not satisfied. Everyone who sees it is like "WTF! Its auto". And I say, "I know, I know... "
Look for one with a manual tranny. It's more fun to drive anyway. No heal-toe shifting in a SS.
