Some engines are built better then others and it sounds like you got a good one...even though 8000 rpm is redlining it.

The mods in your sig, is that ALL you have done to this motor? Reason I ask is because, honestly, I see no way this motor made 223whp especially on a Mustang Dyno. Unless there is a lot you are leaving out... I know you have dyno sheets and the 12 pages of HP increments, but I am just having a hard time believing this (I'm an *******, sorry ). But, good numbers

I'm a little surprised also...thats a pretty basic setup and 223 on a mustang is really rippin' it.

Good numbers bro.

Those numbers seem extremely high as did my B20VTEC 2 years ago on a Mustang Dyno.

214whp at 7800rpm and 163ft lbs at 6500

Here's my set-up that I built myself.

Skunk2 stage 1 cams
Spoon 70mm TB
Eagle Rods
JE Pistons 10.5:1
Head milled .0030"
Self ported Head
Softened Combustion Chamber
Homemade 3" Intake
JDM ITR Intake Mani
JDM DC 4-1 with 2.5" Collector
RC 310's
B&M FPR
Stock 2000 SI Catalytic Converter
Skunk2 Exhaust

I was shocked because as you did I expected my final output to be lower.
Mine rips don't get me wrong but I don't believe that my output was that high. I'm sure if you dynoed elsewhere even on a dynojet your out put would be much lower. I think the Mustang Dynos suffer from a lack of consistency.

My Navy buddy has LSVTEC built a little with:

11.5:1 CR
Skunk2 stage 2
Skunk2 Valvetrain
Skunk2 Mani with TB port matched
70mm TB
RC 310cc
AEM FPR
JDM 4-1
Sir Pistons
Hondata
etc......

He only laid down 190hp on a Dynojet and he was pissed because all he wanted was 200hp.

I have been informed that shops will elect to have the settings manipulated so that the Mustang Dyno reads like a Dynojet. In your case the load was probably not factored in or the correction factor is incorrect. I also noted that your cars weight was pretty damn high. 2875 is heavy as hell. My friends 1994 LS weighed only 2412 full interior. So, go and get your car weighed you might be surprised.

BTW I don't mean to sound like dick but I'm just trying to help make sense of all this. Tuning is great but horsepower figures are for bench-racing.

Do a search on Mustang dyno's, they sometimes show numbers a little higher or a little lower then a dyno jet (+ or -10%). I would be willing to bet money that a dynojet will yield lower numbers, go try it and let us know what the dynojet says...Anyhow I'm not knocking your runs at as it sounds like its running good.

wow those numbers are pretty hard to belive. not only the hp but the torque seems too high for your mild setup.if you can dyno on a dynojet and post that sheet up which should show your real whp/lbs.

your in canada right? so it means when you dynoed it it was most likley very cold outside. that would make your numbers higher than they would in warmer climates.
i dont know just a thought

it's actually really warm in my city right now. we had a record for the coldest summer since environment canada has been monitoring it, yet it was around 20 celsius last night, with like 50% humidity . thanks for all the comments guys, many people are calling BS or asking me to spend another couple hundred bucks to go to a dyno jet, which is fine. the numbers are higher than normal.

very good numbers but there are different trim level dynos from mustang. the md-250 reads very low but the md-imp reads nearly identical to a dynojet.

but either way good numbers.
