Default Need help. '94 GSR...trouble starting.

This is what happens. I turn the key and press the clutch....the motor turns, but no start. It turns and turns. I wait 1min and then it starts. Sometimes it starts and bogs out a couple of times. Can this be a bad fuel pump? My clutch is practically out also..can it be the clutch? I already changed the fuel filter. Any suggestions.

i would highly reccomend pulling a plug and checking to see if there is any signs of fouling. you can read alot about an engine from a plug. if it just cranks and cranks it probably is your distributor. too many variables to tell. you might wanna get your car diagnosed at a auto-electric shop.

test for spark and fuel, if you have these then its probably the ignitor.
located behind the ignition coil in the distributor.

So if the ignitor is bad.....I'd have to change the whole distributor? And when you say, "pull a plug" you mean a spark plug? What do I look for? THanks!

you do not have to remove the distributor for the ignitor.

pull a plug- remove a spark plug and check the condition if it.
