2021 CRV battery changed = all dash lights
Ok Team, I have been supplying and teaching my kids about Honda's for over twenty years now and they are all adults and are faithful Honda product people now.
However, this new CRV bought in 2021 right off the lot has got us ALL rattled about buying a Honda product again.
Good 'ol DIY'r DAD (me) changed the factory battery in our base line CRV a month ago on a cold morning and now I can't get the dash alarm lights to clear.
Here is what I have done so far, but each time ALL the dash lights come back after a short drive and or 24 hours later.
Side note: before changing the battery, there was never any codes thrown. Only after I changed the factory battery out;
I can't use cruise, hill assist, remote start and several other safety features.
HONDA, you are culpable if something happens, all because I needed to change a simple battery. This isn't right!
Thank God this doesn't happen to your TV's at home when you change the remotes batteries!
Any help or suggestions to renew my faith in Honda products would be so appreciated.

- changed battery and immediately started it. Failed to let it learn the new voltages.
- dash lights returned, ALL of them.
- next, used my code reader to clear what I could, dash lights returned.
- next, removed both battery cables and connected them off the battery to discharge all the stored voltages.
- turned car on to ACC only, for 3 minutes for all sensors to learn new 12 volt battery source.
- drove it in parking lot and codes cleared....for 1 hour, then
- dash lights returned, ALL of them.
- disconnected cables again and shorted them together off the battery, this time for over 3 hours.
- reconnected, turned ACC on for 20 minutes without starting, then started.
- dash lights stayed off for a day and a half then dash lights returned, ALL of them.
I can't use cruise, hill assist, remote start and several other safety features.
