Default K24A1 head swap

looking to do a cam and rocker swap on my K24A1

i have an automatic K24A1 in my 2004 CRV which is due for a rebuild. during the process i figure i want to do a head swap for “ real “ VTEC just to help it get up and go. from my researched i’ve found a viable option to be as follows

K24A1 long block

K20A2 camshafts

K24Z3 rocker arms

would i be able to run this abomination on a stock ecu or would i need to invest big money into something like a hondata ? am i better off using a complete K24A2 head and assembly ? in the end im looking for cheap power out of my honda, any help is appreciated.

This combination will NOT run on a stock ECU... not even close. "VTEC Killer" combinations require engine management... and the tuning will need to be AlphaN for maximum resolution. I am unaware of a tuning solution that works in a 2G CRV with an automatic transmission... the Hondata KPro will not work. There is no "Cheap Power" solution for your vehicle... the best plan will be to buy something else that is more easily modded... and has a manual transmission.
