Kimi was so close to Bottas and yet the DRS didnt help much, upset on that really......
Was expecting much more from wonderkid Leclerc, but he keeps messing up.....
Deep down i want Hartley to do good this year and sorta prove to RB they were wrong to drop him years ago.

in my opinion i think they were scared of overheating softer tyres. red bull might have passed him anyway. would have been a good battle though.

Rossi seems to be the IndyCar title favorite this season. I wonder if he'll try to get back to F1 if he wins the championship this year.
you're right. toto said it wasn't that they didn't react quick enough but instead a conscious decision. they decided 13 lap old mediums would be fine for the rest of the race.

Renault plans engine step for Canada?
Renault plans an upgrade for Canada that will bring them to within 50hp of Merc/Ferrari...are they really 80hp down at the moment? I would think if they're that far off Ric wouldn't have been able to challenge for victory.
"According to informed sources, the improvement will be about 30 hp, and on a track like Canada, it would be about three tenths per lap," said the report. AS said the boost would bring Renault up to about 950 hp, while Mercedes and Ferrari are now nudging 1000.
I meant when Ferrari lost out to Merc/VB before the SC.
And I don't subscribe that Kimi got boned any harder than Seb did. Once they (Ferrari) had clearly lost out in the stops before the SC, their only advantage (with Kimi) was track position. Pitting him immediately after gives that up, and puts them on one lap newer tires and like 10s off of HAM in 5th. Hardly anything to write home about there.
To the internet's crying of using Kimi as "cannon fodder" I ask, what other strategy was available and superior to the one they chose?

Hartley thought that he was supposed to let him by upon exiting the hairpin. Gasly thought he was supposed to be let by going into the hairpin.

Formula 1 will increase race fuel allowance in 2019 to allow teams "to use the engine at full power at all times". Increase from 105kg to 110kg, agreed in today's Strategy Group meeting in Paris and is set to be ratified by the World Motor Sport Council.
Someone commented that the cars should also be required to fuel up to the brim, so that the computers don't undermine the intention and decide that lift and coast ends up being the faster strategy.
