When will they follow HHF's suggestion of timing down to the ten thousandth of a second?
Anyways, saw an IndyCar type toy car in wannabe McLaren livery at Long Beach today.

I couldn't go today because of a wedding in nearby Fullerton. I think the same vendor goes to Sonoma so I'll try to get you a MIMED STAR car.
sky prequaly had an awesome segment on the sequence of events that led to francesco getting run over. i hope ESPN carried it.
cliffs:
1) the wheel gun was set to ON (RIGHTY TIGHTEY) instead of OFF (LEFTY LOOSEY)
2) ferrari doesn't use a button on the gun for the operator to press indicating the wheel is done and ready. instead to save 0.2 seconds they use a torque sensor in the wheelgun. since the gun was trying to torque the wheelnut down instead of removing the nut, the torque sensor indicated the wheel was on and ready. the jacks automatically drop when all four wheelguns indicate correct torque.
3) none of the people overseeing the stop noticed that the tyre had not changed. they have the ability tohalt the jacks from dropping the car / giving kimi the green light.
ferrari's response: nobody is allowed in the path of the wheels and one more person observing from the rear who can override the system

Sometimes when you over think something to try to save some time you might just ended up making more of a mess of then you really needed it to be...
Fair enough. It's had some good races and memorable moments in the past doe (hello 2007). My 2 cents as the most significant factors for fun/mixed up China races are: effective DRS and being so front limited that it opens up the strategies more.
BTW saw that SkyF1 snipit about the pitstops. Pretty damn cool, but holy hell the LR gun man had the gun set on tighten? CMON BRUH.
