What ever happened to Paul Hembry? He stopped being so front and center, which he probably should've defaulted too...
Great race though. Loving the midfield battle.
So Ricciardo had a Renault energy store failure it appears. This is supposed to be the detuned, reliable engine spec until they can get the new one sorted out. I would assume that Honda had a better engine in Bahrain than Renault based on Gasly's performance and the TR chassis, but the teams would have a better idea of that.
If TR keeps mixing it at the top of the midfield RBR Honda is all but a formality for 2019.

Hartley's race was so so, however. I think PG just delivered on an aero update they brought in a huge way. Definitely the Honda wasn't holding them back in Bahrain.
The onboard of Ricciardo's failure was bizarre. Just cut of instantly. Like the master switch was flipped.

Williams are enduring what could become the worst period in their illustrious history, with a new car that is simply not good enough for their two young drivers who were never on the pace during the Bahrain Grand Prix.
The arrival of Paddy Lowe at Williams a couple of years ago heralded a new era for the longtime under-performing outfit. Head-hunted from Mercedes Lowe was going to raise the technical game at Grove.
Afterall they have Mercedes power units that have dominated the sport, which by their own admission is the same spec and power that the works team have, thus the 2 or 2.5 seconds deficit to the pacesetters must be down to severely flawed design.
For this they hired highly rated ex-Ferrari designer Dirk de Beer, his arrival invariably triggered great expectations for this year’s FW41, the first fruit of the work of the Lowe led tech team. But what they have delivered for their drivers is the slowest car on the 2018 grid.

Just got done browsing the F1 technical forum and picked up these tidbits
- MCL33 chassis isn't as good as MCL32 (relative to competition)...good downforce but high drag
- Late power unit change probably screwed rear suspension design/setup knowledge from Honda era
- McLaren had great middle sector, bad S1/S3 in Bahrain
- Bahrain is a stop-n-go track, McLaren's high downforce car should be better suited to China with it's sweeping corners
@falcong sr: can you post up the lap time tracker graph? I want to see Fred's times on the mediums during his second stint, to try to understand why they pitted him for a second time. Seems like Ericsson, VB and Ham made the one stop mediums work quite well; why not Fred?
They're leading STR in both championships...

I think STR also had the highest speed through the trap in FP2
customer states she doesn't know why the tire popped, she was just driving and didn't hit anything
that's some HAM china 2007 level **** right there

it looks like i cannot buy STR swag directly, have to buy from a 3rd party off ebay.
i have not successfully accessed one of the european versions of their website to see if you can ship to US, but the main site redirects to a US version of the shop with no STR gear.
