The Official Formula 1 2018 Season Thread
With the pace that KMag is showing right now I don't think Haaas has to do anything but run their race to help Ferrari
Max has been sliding that car around something fierce!

That's an inventive way to help Ferrari
What happened to Sirotkin. Was during ESPN side by side so couldn't tell. Did he just drive it down an access road?

assuming they don't develop the car much this season (which is my prediction) that was probably their best chance at a lot of points and probably cost the team millions in revenue
Gunther said both the LR and LR wheel nuts cross threaded and they used the same setup all last year with no issues but the gunmen need to practice identifying the crossthread condition
"You would not believe what happened: it was a plastic sandwich bag, which went into the rear-right brake duct," he said.
"We still have a piece of the bag in our bodywork. Yes, that's how exciting it is. It was a big bag, a big sandwich bag.
"It was lap three or lap four, and it made [the brakes] overheat massively. It caused massive temperature spikes and destroyed all of the brakes.
"There is no wall or anything there, so luckily the car is still in one piece. But I lost the pedal and went completely straight. It was day over."

Good on RG if he is trying to help the guy. Any chance Haas is hiring new wheel gun operators?
BTW Fal Cong Sr. I'm done drinking the Honda Koolaid. You talked me into taking sips again with all your positive talk over the break.
MGU-H lasts 15 laps. Pathetic. Gonna start calling you Jim Jones.

That's a nice 5th place for Alonso. I only caught the last 12 laps so I didn't see the start or the safety car issue. Also, I missed what they said but I guess Sainz was nauseous cuz his water bottle broke and he was dehydrated? I remember hearing something like, "I'm nauseous".
"We had a problem with the water pump and during the first 10 or 15 laps it was squirting water on my face, so I was drinking too much water," Sainz explained.
"When the safety car came out I had a lot of water in my stomach and was moving from side to side and I was feeling it a lot in the corners and I wasn't feeling well.
"I managed to survive as best I could and I reached the finish."
He added: "With the g-forces we have this year, having the stomach full of water, moving from side to side, I don't know if it was a stomach cramp or what, but I wasn't comfortable."

The drivers were the weak point concerning getting stuck in Q1.
And Alonso had a Trulli 5th place. He had 6-9th stacked up behind him. Melbourne helped Fred get 5th. Not to mention Max and his broken diffuser. McLaren will get there later this season, but on a track where passing is possible he would have been 9th at best.
