I fear that every little operational hiccup McLaren has, the bandwagon will jump out and say "See! It wasn't all Honda's fault!". Which is kinda stupid, because we knew that already. Are we really comparing booboo's between a loose wheel nut (or exhaust clamp) and a PU system that is ~100hp down on power AND unreliable? c'mon

Note: I wrote this hours ago, but work is being... work.
Yeah those things happen, but they seem to keep happening at McLaren. The upside down part for Button years back on a car that turned out to be a dog, with what was easily the best PU on the grid. Maybe because McLaren IS the British F1 team this stuff gets blown out of proportion more than it should.

As for the blame for the last 3 years, we know both sides were responsible (Honda more so) but it sure seems like the people at McLaren don't share that opinion. I do think its hilarious that EB was bitching today about teams not wanting to extend the test, saying they are selfish. That's rich coming from a team that waited until late in the year to say oh no, we don't agree about the shark fins for 2018 in order to try and gain an advantage.

I'll prob sign up for F1 TV. I hope the access to archive footage is full races and not just highlights.

lucky you: i think it would take years to produce highlights out of the recently digitized footage.

since FOM only owns the raw footage so it will be interesting to see if the archives are actual broadcasts with commentators or not

i got a feeling f1 tv is gonna broadcast next week's testing

and since i'm daydreaming, i'd say it's going to be free and open to drum up interest and stress test their CDN content distribution network

oh and wbuxton will be tippy tap dancing up and down the paddock filling us in

Sounding like Miami and Hanoi GPs will be added next year and Argentina is trying to get a GP as well. What is interesting is the organizer for Argentina want to use Autodromo Juan Carlos Oscar Alfredo Gálvez layout number 15 which includes the lake.

Problem is they need to find money to upgrade the circuit and it sounds like this is unlikely.

I'm so excited! Just watched a few of the testing vids from the F1 youtube page. Did they hire Wipeout graphic designers? lol

So in all the articles I see about the OTT service they never mention were the commentary will come from. It will be in 4 different languages (Englinsh, German, Spanish, French) so I'm betting it will be Sky feed for the English version, RTL for the German version maybe Moviestar F1 for Spanish and Canal+ for French.

Which commentary options will be available?
F1 will be working with its existing broadcast partners for the commentary on F1 TV depending on what language you will be watching in. For example, the English broadcast will be supplied by Sky Sports, while the French coverage is provisionally set to come via Canal +.

How much will F1 TV cost?
F1 TV Access is estimated to cost $2-3 per month, or $20 if bought in a yearly package.
F1 TV Pro is estimated to cost $8-12 per month, or $100 if bought in a yearly package.

Will classic F1 coverage be available through F1 TV?
Classic F1 coverage will be available through F1 TV, as confirmed by Arthofer during Wednesday’s press conference.

“The goal is to have a handful of races both on a full and highlight basis available at launch, going back to 1981, so 36 years,” Arthofer said. “A lot of that content has never been really seen or released. It has been sitting in our production studio in Biggin Hill and we’re doing our best to make it available to fans now. “I personally think it’s a really great asset and something that - regardless of whether fans will pay for it - will surprise and delight them once they sign up for the service.”

Well the F1 Digital Guy was quoted in the article several times. If he's being quoted I would think it's good sauce.

I hope they fix the TV mics. These cars are sounding p good.

That time was set on hypersofts and he was out for 2 flying laps.

Ham, currently 0.135 adrift, set his fastest time on mediums early in a stint that was 15 laps long. The Merc seems killer again.

So far everything I have read about F1 TV says LIVE streaming. Has anything been said about current races available for streaming anytime? Or will we still have to wake up at 4am to watch live?

TR, Haas, Renault, and McLaren all have looked p good in testing. Have a feeling FI and Williams are going to slip down towards the bottom.

this is a very good question. i would hope it is DVR style where you can start watching an event and pause/continue at any time after it has started and even after it is finished
