At least the autodrive can't crash into anything up there. Tho the folks in the ISS may want to watch out. Ditto for Hubble...

much to my shock and surprise it turns out some teams in Formula E are gaming the Fanboost gimmick by paying for votes. apparently large numbers of die-hard Formula E fans (aka botnets) in China are voting for specific drivers at the last minute.

that's a better setup than the half-assed scaffolding on the Sauber.

Also I'm not surprised you have an Indy response to pretty much everything ITT and previous HTF1 threads. Bravo.

IndyCar "deflector" as they're starting to refer to it. Also new for 2018 is the "F1-style" (IndyCar's description) steering wheel.

"No show-stoppers," said Dixon after climbing from the car. "It's a little bit different, looking through something that is so thick. I thought it would have messed with distortion a lot more, but there's nothing like that; no problems with reflection.
Obviously we'll run a little bit later to see how it is in a more dusk setting, and then again tonight. But the weirdest thing is just how quiet it is – you don't have any buffeting; the car is very smooth, like you've gone to a really luxurious, dampened car."

It's supposed to stop debris from hitting the driver. Stuff like wheels and wings and other parts.

Ahh ok, that makes sense.

I figure if it's just a windscreen it was overkill.

yeah we've been using it since they rolled it out here. we gave up on google shopping express though. it's basically people driving to the store for you and they changed the pricing so it doesn't make sense. amazon is so close to store prices that it's worth it for most non-perishable / common items. we still pick up certain fresh items like meat or if you want bananas that will be ripe this week you have to go pick them out yourself

and they just built a new whole foods near us and it's the only decent grocery store nearby so amzn still gets our money
