The Official Formula 1 2018 Season Thread
thx e-bro's.
So it's a decently spec'd C4S, and is pretty quick. 1st gear roll will break them loose a bit (so fun). Not the world's fastest car, but it's damn fun and feels pretty great.
Brakes are impressive. By far the best brake pedal/performance I've ever had the luxury of stomping on. Dem Turbo brakes are lit.

How does the car handle with the engine in the back? I've never driven a rear-engine car.
JPM: I hate the Porsches.
AW: What? You hate Porsches?
JPM: They drive like $#!^!
I know a lot of people that love Porsches and I always break their heart (laughs). I'll tell you something, honestly, the only Porsche I like is the Cayenne.
AW: Come on.
JPM: I'm being honest (laughs). Actually you know what didn't drive that badly was the GT3, the RS. I had one of those for like two months.
AW: What don't you like about them?
JPM: They drive like $#!^ with the engine back there. You turn, it doesn't turn. You get on the gas, the front bounces and, oh my God.
AW: You should try the mid-engined cars, then.
JPM: Yeah, yeah. But honestly I saw, right when I started in IndyCar I met [someone] who buys and sells used cars and I told him hey, if you ever get a convertible, a Porsche, let me know, I want to try one. So he lives a half-hour drive from my place, so I picked it up, I drove down to downtown Miami. By the time I got home I already had called him to send a flatbed to pick up the car.

Totes. The 911's are tall rooflines for sports cars so no head rub (giggidity). Seat could go back further if you asked me, but the recline/aft positioning is totally fine. Feels good.
I haven't pushed the car any, but its a very stable car at highway speeds (say 100mph). Maybe once day when I feel like destroying my brakes and these brand new Michelin Pilot Sports, I'll go do a day at COTA and see whats what. Maybe Mr. and Mrs. Greyout will go to so we can be track bros.

Billy Monger tested a Carlin F3 car today. And he helped overturn an FIA rule barring disabled drivers from international single seater competition.
That's nothing...
You know that saying I'd give my right leg to be an F1 driver...
At this point I would like to add that I am extremely happy about this and very interested to see what he can do. I hope he gets to keep driving. I just can't resist being a smart ***.

They Also have a couple of single-day events up at MSR in Cresson this year, using the 3.1m layout. The 3.1 is really fun.
