1. I drilled about 54 spot welds BUT I did run into like 1 or two that were literally not visible but once you see it's a little tight I drilled them out with no issue.
2. I bought a 5 foot long piece of wire and between the roof skin and pillars cut through the seam sealer. If I could do it again it would be thinner wire so it would cut easier.
3. The front portion of the roof got a couple tiny dings from the seam sealer pulling down on the skin but it is very minor and since I am planning on painting the roof skin anyway I will fix that stuff.
4. It took me about 6 hours of taking my time with the spot welding cutter and would say a solid 8 hours this can be done.
5. Once my cage is all done I will post how I will get this skin back on and go from there.
So this morning I got all the 3M Panel Bond on both drip rails and started to spot weld the front and the rear sections. Just waiting for the Panel Bond to set and dry but it wasn't too bad getting this stuff on. I just had to make sure that I got all the old spot welds basically all matched up which was important to make sure everything was lined up like when I pulled the roof off.
Once everything is set and dry I will make sure there is no spot weld slag sticking up and then I can spray the bare metal with a epoxy primer to seal the bare metal. Then I will probably use a seam sealer for the drop rails even though the 3M Panel Bond says it is a 2 in 1 better be safe than sorry.
