I'd happily trade the helmet for the deer that was in the middle of I-95 last nite, bout 40 miles south of DC. Almost missed it, but hard to do at 75 mph.
At least I didnt roll it or slam into the 18 wheeler that was 2 lanes over.
Hit 8000 miles about an hour before the incident. Not even a year old. Bumper, light assemblies, grill, hood, fender and quarter panel all fucked up.
This is first time we drove truck up. Used to take GC8. Not sure if I would have missed it in GC8 and if I hadn't GC8 wood be dead. Prolly us too.
Truck shocked me with how nimble it is. I had it in a hell of a tank slapper too. Insurance already set appointment for shop on Mon. Hope it turns out well.
I'm having an adjuster come out and look at the wife's Civic rear end damage tomorrow. It still drives fine, but I'm hoping its totaled since it has 190k on it and no juan in their right mind would buy it for more than a couple Gs. Icing on the cake was getting a screw in the tire that was unpluggable since it had an exit wound on the side wall. So rather than keep the spare on there, the ol' Integra has donated one of her shoes to the Civic for the time being. No sense getting a new tire if we're getting rid of the car.
Trying to narrow down the next 8 year old vehicle for about $10k - no Fits
- Mazda 3 hatch (mpgs)
- Honda Civic 4-dr (mpgs)
- BMW 3-series (impractical)
- Subaru Impreza (no WRX - but dat AWD)
- Acura RDX - roomy
- Toyota Highlander (2009 - 2010 Japan made only - not the newer Indiana made BS)

the driver side looks fine. Was rear ended by an F juan 50, so the bumpers didn't line up at impact. His bumper hit just above mine and torqued the frame where the trunk shuts. His tow loop dented the bumper. The trunk has a few dents in it and no longer sits flush. The pass side tail light has a few small broken tabs but didn't crack. I was fortunate that the accident happened at low speed, and I was looking in my rear view before the impact so I was able to brace a bit and not get whiplash. MFer gave me some made up insurance # so it's taken forever to get it handled. He claimed he had Geico, but when I called they were like - yeah, he signed up after the accident. Dude has quite a court history. Insurance claims, paternity suits. child support, etc.
NADA retail value is $4700 and I'm prepared to do the dance to get the most for this POS. I shouldn't say it's a POS - it has been a super reliable car and never had to do any major work other than a few coil packs and an A/C clutch.
It certainly was on the big side for a deer. My wife even commented about it being on the large side.
We had to work with the insurance people to get them to not total the GC8 when it was rear ended. It got to the point where it was at their total amount and we got them to back it off.
@turky: your hitting things on the interstate skills need work.
sauce: a real pro
@turkyagain: cute truck.
My skills not hitting things are what need work lol.
I had no reason to get a full size PU. If I did, I wood have kept my Silverado. This can tow trailer for racecar, all we need. Plus wife can and will drive this, p sure she wood not drive full size.
