The Official Formula 1 2017 Season Thread
Freaking F1 Classics is jumping around. Was just 1997 Argentina, before that it was Hungary 2006 and now it's Hungary 1988. I mean it's the MP4/4 show so I'm not complaining but the jumping around is crazy lol.
i've watched far too many of these vidyas and anthropomorphize the marbles
would like to see f1 drivers race in hamster wheels doe
i don't have a problem you're the one with the problem

Jesus, if Seb can get to 4th, then Kimi gives him 3rd then VER Renault fails OMG the F1 world would self destruct lol
3 Renault PUs out now lol
3 Renault PUs out now lol
So what do the reasonable folks of the HT F1 thread think of the first lap incident with VET and HAM. At first I was thinking maybe there was something afoot but then I saw the SEB in car and it looked to me like HAM was clear then VER slowed just a bit, HAM checked up slightly and as SEB was trying to slot in behind HAM the tiny gap evaporated.
The moar I think about it I have a hard time believing SEB did it on purpose. His wing wasn't damaged enough to have to come in until he had the clash with HAM.
Also 4 Renault PUs ded in the race, 0 for Honda. Of course one of the finishing Renault PUs did win the race, oh wait. That was a TAG, nm

agreed with both of you gentlemen. my initial reaction was it was a bit '97 jerez but nah it it was just a raging incident
The craziness that was the European GP 1999 was just on and now it's Abu Dhabi 2010.
When Liberty offers the streaming service they need to have all of these classic races/seasons available to watch. Either stream them like F1 classics channel or just make the entire broadcast library available so that subscribers can watch whatever they want when they want.

From what I can tell all the Renault issues were due to the hybrid systems. Could it be the thin air's decreased cooling ability was the culprit? Max was ok but he was in clear air for much of the race.
Makes me wonder if temps in Brazil could be an issue and if McLaren may need to alter some of their aero philosophy. I wonder if the Honda MGU-H issues are down to air flow as well...
yeah it was low air density causing heat issues and max was cruising and probably keeping an eye on temps. honestly i think ham was too since he didn't even need to finish and he's out of fresh engine parts
Sky feed in the US? Looks like it, according to Joey S Wad
There is a lot going on in the TV world as well, with Liberty Media keen to get switched over to direct-to-consumer coverage as quickly as possible, rather than using TV companies (effectively middle men) to provide the money. The potential rewards of such a move have been highlighted by the recent successes of Netflix and other such “over the top” services. For the moment, the sport is still working with broadcasters, but it is beginning to become clear that they are going to be less interested to pay for the rights if they see the sport becoming a rival. This is why no deal was possible with NBC for 2018 and why F1 coverage is switching to ESPN/ABC. This deal is clearly only a stop-gap solution and from what I hear ESPN/ABC will simply take Sky F1’s coverage.
