1st is 1/2" SS bolt with the head cut off welded to 1/8" hot rolled plate. Stainless bolt was from Home Depot so it's of unknown grade.
2nd is 1/2" SS bolt head welded to 1/8" hot rolled plate, not from the same project as #1. Stainless bolt was from Home Depot so it's of unknown grade. It was then tapped for 3/8x16 to accept a leveling foot for a friend's workbench build.

Filler was 309L, gas in #1 was set to I think 15CFH (maybe?) and #2 was set at 20CFH. Both used a #12 FUPA for ***** and giggles. Critique is welcomed.

really the only thing i can see you could improve on and i don't see the need in much improvement is ripple consistency but your ripples still good really good to me.

Agreed, I definitely need more on-time to practice. Seems like I only pick up the welder every 6 months for some random 1" piece like this.

Couple examples of my recent work. Been tig welding for about a month off and on, home hobbyist. These are using an Eastwood Tig200 DC machine setup with a Furick Fupa 12, 2% Thoriated tungsten and 1/16 308LSI filler. The mufflers are some old Carven TRs from my truck, ignore the mig garbage on the first lol. All 304 stainless and planning on recycling for my Lude. Didn't backpurge the mufflers because they look like crap already from being used in Iowa and I don't have a purge setup anyways. The v-band did get SolarFlux Type B used but I cared more about that being on my header. Don't think I'm doing too bad for being self taught with cheap tools.
