I think Toyota had those on their wheels. You could see the Toyota logo as the wheels spun. That was super cool to the young me.

There's a Boris Said article in the current issue of Road & Track. He talks about driving stock cars and how some drivers like Franchitti couldn't adapt and how other drivers first drove stock cars on a road course. He also quotes JPM as saying something along the lines of F1 cars being boring to drive compared to stock cars. JPM said he gets beeps in the earpiece telling him when to shift, which is something I didn't know about.

F1 been doing that ear piece beep thing for a while now (obviously if JPM had it going on)
As far as stock cars vs open wheel being moar fun...

When you were racing open wheels the tires were twice as wide and the car weighed half as much. Now the car weighs twice as much and the tires are half as wide, and your burning them up.
Petit Le Mans just got the outrun stamp of approval https://www.motorsport.com/imsa/news...e-mans-958817/
The prototype class in IMSA is kinda weird with all the LMP2 cars mixed in with the daytona prototypes. A Liger LMP2 won last weekend at Laguna Seca but the Cadillac still seems to be the car to have.
It's going to be interesting next year with Penske and Joest running teams in the P class. Will definitely upset the balance some.
Ford is running the GT program until the end of 2019. There was an article recently that said Ford might be interested in going to the Prototype class if the WEC and IMSA can agree to a similar ruleset (like GTLM). If that happens, they'll also be competing for overall wins at Le Mans.

McLaren Bob on NBC live coverage of FP2. They say he will be available for interview on NBC coverage all weekend.
Also confirmed Fred will make up his mind by US GP.

During FP2 Buxton said the tech nerd that left the FIA is rumored to be going to Renault. I guess the teams are really pissed because he was the guy that was the first point of contact when teams had a development they wanted to confirm was legal. He basically knows everyone's tricks.
