Icon3 How would one go about skinning the hood?

I'd like a unique look to my car and I saw a picture on instagram of a "skeleton hood" and I think it looks awesome. If anyone knows where i could start with that please let me know. I'll include a picture of it. My car is a 1992 Sedan by the way.

A) that looks retarded.

B) take a look at your hood and start removing all of the spot welds from the rib structure.

C) regret what you've done and buy another stock hood.

Seems like these stance guys are running out of ideas to stay unique. How about they build a functional car for once? That'll stand out among the thick vape clouds looming in the parking lot.

Being stupid is not unique.

Rethink your life choices, Stanceman.

This is true. However, why is the modern trend of car enthusiasts centered around destroying things on their cars, rather then actually creating something? "Static" cars scraping their floorpans off, running more camber to prematurely wear down tires, stretching tires to the point of risking their lives from tire sidewalls overheating... How is that a form of automotive enthusiast? Seems more like an anarchist to me.

Well, I'm not stancing my car, and I think it looks cool and if you don't, shove it and keep going. I'll do it if I want to do it. Nothing any of you can do about that

It's a whole new generation. Simple & Clean don't work anymore. Complicated & **** is where it's at.

It's the anti-car-enthusiast trend. "Breaking the rules" and "being different" is like... tattoos and piercings your parents said you'd regret.

Why even bother with an actual hood?

If you really wanna be unique, you should just say "Fukk it" and go get some copper tubing from Home Depot and just make your own crazy hood-like sculpture.

Look at this pic, see the door?
(hint: There is no door. The door is now a gate )

Then why come asking for help? Just cut the thing up. Nobody here thinks it's a good idea, so you're not really going to get more of a serious response than what Caoboy suggested.

Kinda figured you guys here would be at least respectful to me wanting to be different no matter how I go about it but I guess not. The few Honda guys I know are right. Ya'll are a bunch of old guys who are still in the glory days of "I know it all and they know nothing"

If you want to be different, then by all means be different. We can and do respect your choice to be different. However, we are in no way obligated to respect the way in which you want to accomplish it. Nobody wants to assist you because we all think it's a bad idea and will reflect negatively on the import (Honda) community. Even I would be guilty of saying; "There goes another P.O.S ricer" if I saw your "Different" hood.

Many things can be done to a vehicle that are considered unique touches without being incredibly pointless and dangerous. Weakening the structural integrity of the hood so you can be a special snow flake is incredibly stupid. Us "Old Guys" just think the safety of you, your passengers and other people on the road is more important. If that hood comes loose on the road due to poor structural integrity and causes an accident resulting in death, you can enjoy your lawsuit and Involuntary Manslaughter charge. We don't know everything. We just know enough to recognize a bad idea when we see it. Especially when it can potentially put people in danger.

Man up and do it, instead of crying that we are picking on you. It's your car, you're entitled to do what you want with it. You asked opinions, you got them, just because they aren't what you want to hear doesn't mean we are wrong and mean.

I think its more like experience through others or themselves. think about this the hood is going to cause more drag and have a greater possibility of popping the hood latch and smacking the windshield. causing a accident injuring or killing you and possibly killing someone else. which @ that point you would be responsible for their death for you trying to be unique.

most of the spot welds were broken when i got the car and now a couple more broke and the hood moves around when im doing 65. would it be more or less dangerous to do this? cause yeah maybe the hood would pop up if i did do it but also id be able to still see through it.
