Is that the same fire from before the eclipse? When I drove up to Oregon I was afraid the smoke would block the view. I smelled the smoke too.
I drove up through Healdsburg on the way to Salem, OR (wanted to pass by San Quentin) and took a really nice, curvy roads (101 to 128 to 29 to 20 on the way to I-5).
Yeah there were several complexes before the eclipse. I was at the Orleans Complex. There was the Eclipse Complex, Salmon Complex, and the Miller Complex. Also the Chetco Bar Fire. A complex is when 1 incident management team is responsible for several fires.
Mclaren is trying to get Renault engines and they're pushing STR to take Honda engines with Mclaren gearboxes so they can get away from Honda.
One source suggested it is not a case of whether McLaren splits with Honda, but of how messy the process gets.
The simplest way for McLaren to achieve its aim is to convince Honda to tie up with Toro Rosso for 2018 and beyond.
That would free up Toro Rosso's Renault engine supply for McLaren.
Toro Rosso would get a financial boost from Honda, which would be able to stay in F1.
Talks between Toro Rosso and Honda appeared to have collapsed recently but are back on and now at an advanced stage.
At Spa last weekend Toro Rosso and Honda's denial that there had been any "official talks" was intriguingly dispelled by McLaren, which revealed it had been asked to supply gearboxes for any potential deal.
But sources suggest Honda is not especially eager to make the jump to Toro Rosso and does not want to give up on McLaren.
That means there is a stand-off between McLaren and Honda, with neither party able to move forward at present.
Honda should do it. They are not worthy of a top flight team currently, and if they ever do make something worth a ****, then they can move to Red Bull.
Well the team results are horrible with Honda, so I think the whole team would be happier with better engines. Alonso is doing the team a favor by publicly shaming Honda since he's the face of the team.
Is the Renault PU gonna be that much better? RB has managed a few podiums (some of them gifted) and Max probably would tell McLaren to stay away. The grass is always greener...until it isnt. Fred has basically been an albatross since the whole spygate/crashgate sagas. Until he leaves McLaren is fuct.
Mock me if you want for believing in karma, but won't change my feeling that you reap what you sow.
