2006 Accord Passenger-Side Air Mix Motor
I have a 2006 Accord EX-L sedan, 2.4L, without Nav. The car has about 198,000 miles on it, and still going strong. A couple of years ago, the driver's side air mix motor gave out, and I had my local dealership replace it. Now, the passenger side air mix motor is on its way out. I'd like to replace it myself this time. Several local auto parts stores don't seem to have the part, but I found a couple of websites that look promising. They call it an "air duct motor" and have a part number of "W0133-2034813." Several Google searches on this part number have me pretty convinced that this is the right part. Price seems about right too from my prior experience with the driver side air mix motor... list price of about $115.
Unfortunately, I can't find any solid information on where to access the passenger side air mix motor, or how to replace it. When I drop the glove box down (as if to access the cabin air filter), there are a few parts that look like they could be the air mix motor, but I'm not certain.
Does anyone have any experience replacing the passenger-side air mix motor (or "air duct motor") on a similar model Accord? Or perhaps a diagram of how to access it? Like many repairs, it looks pretty simple to disconnect/replace/reconnect if I can figure out how to access the thing. If I can get to it without removing the entire right side panel, it makes sense, but if I have to pull the whole passenger-side panel apart, it might be better to just take it to a dealership. Thoughts or suggestions welcome...
Thanks!
Mitch
