I see F15's here frequently. Only 2 flying B29s in the world.

Inefficiency is always cooler.

In fact I think there is way to derive coolness from efficiency. Been too many years since I was in dif EQ doe.

 

all I see in the south bay near SJC are 737s. sooo many 737s. frickin southwest has turned airlines into bus service (not a bad thing necessarily)

SJC does get two 787s daily and now an A340 which is pretty sweet doe

up near SFO you see a lot of 747s and A380s but my work is closer to SJC's flight paths

Mostly I see F15s, Ospreys, Super Cobras and Harriers and little puddle jumper air planes. The F15s and Ospreys fly low over the house sometimes on their way inland from offshore training. The F15s are still hauling *** when they pass overhead. I've seen them low enough were I could make out the individual panels on the plane. Ospreys make the house feel like it's gonna shake apart lol.

We get this doing touch an gos a lot too.

 

oh yea V-22s are brutal when they fly in to the military field here. been a while though.

edit - we do get C-130s doing touch n gos for national guard training. those will shake the house when they are right overhead.

Several years ago I saw something different. In the summer this tiny cessna would come in and pick up a banners to flying over the beach.

I had never seen it done before, talk about skill. Dude's success rate was 90-95%. He didn't miss many. Saw it happen for several weeks but haven't seen it since. The banner would be laying in the grass with the tow end elevated about 3 ft off the ground. The plane would swoop in and grab it with a tail hook. Very impressive.

 

yeah banner tow guys are up there with crop dusters in the skills department
