So back to F1. Am I wrong for thinking that Ferrari didn't fix the race for VET to win? To me it appeared that RAI just didn't have the pace. I think if Ferrari had called VET in first he would have been able to turn laps fast enough to undercut RAI. I guess if they called Seb in first and the very next lap they called in RAI then it probably wouldn't have happened.

The problem is RAI was asking to come in and the team obliged. That was the key point of the race. VET ran a couple amazing laps on the used US, laps a good bit quicker than what RAI was running on the US. I just don't think RAI had the pace today which sucks cause I would liked to have seen him win.

 

I think it was definitely a fixed race for VET.

So you think RB fixed the race for RIC over VER? Because RIC pulled off the overcut too? Yes VER had a slow pitstop but RIC still would have ended up ahead of him.

I really wanted RAI to win the damn race but VET was just faster.

As someone who has a bday this week I'll just say it's a great time of year to be born as you get memorial day / monaco gp / indy 500 for a birthday every year.

VET's pace once released was cray. His lap times after RAI pitted were much, much quicker. RAI was just too slow. Need a gap to VET (didn't), and the new SS didn't look like it turned on as quickly as it needed. That last tid bit caught out Bo77as and Verp too.

When I think of people believing this, I think of you blu.

 

Even I knew the SS wouldn't turn on quickly. It was simply too hard a compound for Monaco. Not sure how they ever thought pitting early was a good idea.

 

The new SS lap times weren't slow doe. The used US tires for Seb and Dan were just ridiculous fast once they got clear air. If Kimi had the pace to run those laps, why wasn't he?

Of course Ferrari aren't sad Seb juan the race, but IMO the pace of both cars dictated the outcome, not the strategy from the pitwall.

 

Just a quick look at the lap times, RAI on used US right b4 pitting and VET on SS after pitting shows that if Ferrari had pitted VET first he would have undercut RAI. VET was anywhere from .3 to 1 sec a lap faster on the SS than RAI on the US (depending on the lap). VET was able to get the SS in operating temp easier/faster than RAI.

RAI just didn't have the pace no matter what Ferrari did he was not fast enough to win the race.

Of course he did. I would too. He hasn't won in forever and prob had a feeling that winning pole would win him the race.

I'm sure at some point he has, especially last season where there were races that VET didn't seem to show up for.
