I've been enjoying the car and haven't done much to it since I've had it running. I did pick up a comptech icebox from a good friend of mine. This intake I think was bought brand new by another old friend Nick who's car I always looked up to when I was first getting in to Hondas. It's pretty cool to have a part of it on mine. I'm just the caretaker until Nick's car is running again though and then I'll give it back to him. The diff is bad and whining, so have to pull the trans again, but will be installing an MFactory LSD this time which should make the car a little less scary to drive when it loses traction.
I like the first picture a lot, I have a similar one of my coupe. Your hatch makes me really wish I kept mine. The only thing I would change about your car is putting on the clear OEM corners. Keep up the good work, you don't see many EG/EJ's that are in good condition anymore.
Thanks! I have the EG6 clear corners, some vision smoked corners and a set of old Ebay amber corners. I just get bored and switch them around sometimes. The first picture has the EG6 corners on the car. It's really hard to find any pre-2001 civic in good shape anymore. Theft killed a lot in the early 2000s, Rust killed a lot of them after that and stance was the final common denominator on destroyed quarter panels and busted up undercarriages.
looking awesome. Glad youre getting to enjoy it now that the weather is getting nice
Thanks man. I've been driving it around a little bit, but scared to venture too far from my house with the diff howling like it is. I just don't want to take it off the road when it's 75 and sunny everyday.....
Nothing really to update, just been enjoying the car while the weather was nice. It's 98+ out now, so will probably take it off the road for now to get the LMAs in finally and pull the transmission to see what the issue is.

The new engine has been in the car a year now and I drive the car a few times a week. It's the first time in a really long time that the car has been turnkey and reliable which is really cool. I'm picking up S300 soon and will take it up to Humble Performance in Tulsa to get everything perfect on the dyno.
very nice sir. what is your breather setup? probably going to do one on mine at some point as well but dont want to do bungs on the valve cover. you running 1 or 2 -10s to that can or something else?
Beautiful car man. I love the sexiness of simplicity

Thanks man. Right now it's honestly just a hose from the stock breather port on the VC to the catch can. When I pull the trans again I'm going to install the OE block fittings in the back of the block and block off the PCV and run two -10s off of the OE breather barbs to my catch can/breather. I'm just going to use these fittings and then block off the breather port.
Still love this build, between you, Casey and a few others you got me to buy an older Honda again, still waiting on spring for paint but then it should start moving quickly. A nice clean mostly OEM build like yours will always be classy.
I "unupgraded" my driver and passenger side engine/trans mounts back to stock replacements, got the test pipe welded up, and picked up some function form type 2s for a good deal from a friend of mine. The car feels pretty "stock" now when I'm just cruising around which is nice. Next upgrade will be an ASR subframe brace and ITR rear swaybar. I also have a chipped P28 with S300 that I'll use to get the car tuned by Humble Performance in Tulsa eventually. The OBD2 CTR ecu is still a little quirky so I'm hoping that fixes it.... Still just enjoying driving the car.

I did the exact same thing with my motor mounts, idk your reason, but the vibrations from stiffer mounts made the car a pain to live with for me. I also just installed the ASR subframe bracing and a CTR swaybar, noticeably reduced understeer during autocross, you should like that upgrade!

I've been having a little trouble removing those damn plugs off my block, what size and brand allen socket is that?

Thanks! She's a little more dinged up than she was 10 years ago, but still pretty clean for her age.

I had a friend make me a giant allen wrench out of hardened steel at his machine shop when I did mine. They are steel and the block is aluminum so you'll have a good amount of corrosion buildup in there usually which is why they are so hard to get out. Try putting a pipe or breaker on the socket.
So somewhere about a year ago I had a main bearing failure on the B16B so I decided to go a bit bigger. GSR crank, ITR rods, new CTR pistons, everything balanced, lighter competition clutch flywheel, E85, DW300 pump, DW 800CC injectors, 12.8:1 compression, head refreshed, block honed, baffled oil pan, and then COVID hit and I couldn't get any of the ITR main or rod bearings I needed which slowed progress big time. Here's a quick rundown in pictures.... I have a few things to button up this week then I should be able to get it running.
I got pretty much everything buttoned up in the engine bay yesterday. Long HOT day but totally worth it.
Bruh I’ve missed this thread so much and HT in general. Life has been all over the place the last two years. I’m glad you’re still kicking with the car!
