my name is carlos,26 and i recently picked up this 1997 DB7 clean title 2 owner shell for 100 bucks! so yes, i couldn't pass up the deal. it even has the original service records from the first owner.

currently the engine bay is being stripped down and clean up, no crazy bondo all over the place. this is the second time i attempt this since last time i parted the build.

but this time i will finish! or my wife will kill me lol .

i recently started welding so a lot of this is new to me, i am stepping out of my comfort zone for this build.

not trying to go over the top with this car but we all know how that goes.

yes i know the tan interior kills it, currently working on that.

so while stripping the engine bay, i found some unwanted rust well i bought some 22 gage piece of metal to make patches, which is working out great except that i am welding through some
of the weak metal. so i am using metal filler, which has worked out great, ill load up pictures of the finish product later.

11/16/16 Winter starting coming around here in the Pacific North West and things have been slowing down with the car, been working on it here and there,

happy to say i finally sourced a swap, a 2000 GSR long block, it does have a spun rod bearing but other than that its pretty clean.



dissasembled the block and just like mentioned before a spun rod bearing was the cause, so off to the machine shop it goes in the up coming weeks.


also finally got around to mocking up the break lines last night, bought a mint 40/40 prop valve from a member here.



also caught up on some of the small bondo work...don't want to put this stuff everywhere because that defeats the purpose of building this to be a decent track car.



started to shave off the doors since i am not a huge fan of door moldings on the integra generation.



so far so good for the build, cant complain. being a responsible member of society doesn't allow to work on it much but one day ill get there.

picking up some hot ticket items at the JHPUSA black Friday sale so stay tuned.....

Looks nice. Mine is so much cleaner without the trim. Most suv doors are higher then my trim was any ways.

 

well haven't updated much since i haven't had the time. sourced a JDM front end from a good buddy so i went ahead installed it, which was a breeze to do. also removed the dash because i found a black one locally. as for the rest of the tan interior, i am going to try duplicolor interior paint and see how that goes.



also went ahead and remove ALL ABS wiring from the harness.



heres cutting the t bracket. which by the way was way easier than removing the whole thing and the entire front end fits perfectly.



also covered both underside of the fender wells with POUR15, which is my new favorite, will be doing the rear shortly.




yesterday 02/24/2017 went ahead and sanded down the front end and layed 3 layers of primer on it, currently fixing the hood so it can be perfectly straight, the fenders and hood need a good wet sanding before sealing them. its going to be a while before i use any sealer.

haha, yea i started working on it today, i have to pull the entire thing out and start with the rug.

 

yes! lol i wanted a new project but since i have a family i had to be reasonable.

 

went ahead and mounted the headlights today. also threw the bumper on there for kicks. trying to figure out how to wire the city lights and fogs.

 

sprayed 2 coats of primer today after some rough sanding and filling in some nasty dents. more sanding to come as their is some highs in the body filler. its almost there.



front end is all put together. its starting to look like a car again.

 

same reason I got rid of my Del sol and got a db8

 

while searching through the piles of parts that like to sit around my house, i find this JDM ITR front lip from my RHD integra i owned at some point. it was banged up a bit but thats nothing some heat couldn't fix.



also pulled my black dash out for a good cleaning, i have a majority of the parts to go all black interior but with some pieces i am going to have to get creative,
i purchased a PWJDM carbon fiber air bag tray so i can get rid of that **** airbag



laid primer tonight to see where i am at. some pin holes and highs from the bondo, but some sanding will get me where i need to be.

well thats enough updates for now, thanks to the wife for letting me put in work on the car. we have our second daughter due in july so i am trying to get as much done before the baby is here.

received my DB8 ITR spoiler today, i was skeptical at first but i love it and i am glad i purchased it, HMO had a sale for it i couldn't pass up.



installed the PWJDM bumper scoop, its a bit bigger than i thought but it is much more aggressive than the Js racing scoop. now i just need a different lip because the ITR lip doesn't cut it.

 

looking good man ... great progress .... makes me wish I got the j-front for mine before I painted it 🤔

yea I am sitting around in shore duty right now until I go back to sea next year, trying to finish as much as I can before I cant touch the car for the next 5 years lol

at this point i am up in the air with the color, idk if i want to do an oem color or go a little wild and paint it something a bit different.

 

somewhat assembled the car back together, i guess i am getting there

rolled the car out, makes a difference when its under sun light.
finally got around to welding the side moldings shut and straighten out the doors. they are as good as they are going to get.

also, if anyone one here can guide me the correct way on wiring my JDM front end that would be awesome. i purchased a jumper harness from PWJDM for the fogs and city lights.

 

this door by far was the most fucked. had to use air craft stripper and bring it down to bare metal. primered the door and started to shave the moldings

skunk2 dual valve springs and TI retainers for my motor, which i got the block back and the cylinder head is at the machine shop

clear side markers with jumper harness and bulbs from ICB. i love the little details

finish product of that door that was a paint in the ***.

skunk2 street ultra, 70mm throttle body and aem fuel rail. simple engine set up but its going to be rev happy.

finished my brake lines before i started prepping for paint




2k primer laid down. next up is blocking and then coating one more time before wet sand. almost there.

took everything in the rear end apart. coating the wheel wells before apply anti rust sealer just like i did in the front

my car is getting there, slowly but surely.

removed my rear bumper bar and coated in pour 15 just like the wheel wells, they were pretty beat up, look amazing now. also coated the JDM front bar


my momo wheel and hub ive had for some time now, threw it on even though i have no interior

i also have a nice stash of parts going on.
