sup ppl i need some help so time for some info i have a 1993 Honda accord lx4 door it had a bad f22a1 so im swapping it for a h23a1. so that everything is plug and play im using the f22 wire harness i have swapped over the egr cuz its got a different plug
but i found out the f22 does not have a knock sensor and the p14 will be looking for it how would i go about wiring that up. and is there anything else i should be looking for that i might run into problems with?
You can just get some 3m butt connectors(the type with the heat shrink that you just light with a lighter and it shrinks tight) and splice the h23 egr connector over to your existing wiring. You will need to pick up a knock sensor wire from somewhere. You can make one by using 18 gauge wire(you can get some from Walmart). You need the knock sensor connector, and an ecu pin. You can get these from a junkyard. You will crack open the back of the ecu connector and push out a pin. Use the butt connectors to attach the connector and the ecu pin to some wire. Run it to your existing ecu connector at D3. Plug in the other end to the knock sensor on your new h23.

Reason: stuff out of wack
the h23 runs good but my temp gauge is not working right so i want to install a temp gauge on it i have all temp sensors installed on the car can i use one of them and just run the gauge off them or do i need to buy one of them rad hose slicers that have a sensor on it?
can someone direct me to something on eBay that will fit my needs
it works some what its just not going to where it needs to be so i wanted a aftermarket gauge to make sure its not over heating its also for experience so i can put others on swapped cars ill have in the future
i just don't want my mom overheating it ik theres 3 sensors 1 on thermostat housing 1 on the head and 1 on upper rad housing they all look good on the wire harness what one connects to the gauge on cluster?
Is the car overheating ? The fan switch at the top radiator hose is designed to help cool the engine by running ONLY the passenger side fan for up to 10 minutes after the ignition is off. Normally it will run when the engine temp is hot or when it is extremely hot out. It sounds like you really need to get the gauge working cause your car may be overheating right now and the gauge is bad so you don't know it.
an Update: engine is in runs good as holmes was saying it probably overheating cant tell i never ran it more then 5mins at a time anyway just checking for leaks i ordered a new rad thermostat upper and lower hoses and a sensor for the temp gauge
btw thats my 94 prelude behind it has a h22 i got going in soon when i find the right ECU for it p13 auto not the cleanest car but i got it for 400$ h23a1 i got for 250$ 130k still don't know what im going to do about power steering the accord PS bracket is to big unless i cut it but only 1 bolt hole lines up lol it has prelude PS pump i might just swap the line to the prelude one or cut the ends off and use rubber hose to connect em and sealer and clamps
ok i need help i just replaced the rad, thermostat, upper and lower hoses and the single prong temp sensor(should i be using one for the f22a1?i bought it or the h23a1) under distributor the temp gauge does work but its saying its overheating i went out and bought a infrared Thermometer to make sure im not fawking up my engine i took some temps All at H on gauge thermostat housing before thermostat was 130 F after thermostat was 120F the upper rad hose on head was 150F now i took temps of the head and block the Head was 300F and the block was 500F em i over heating or is my gauge stupid
You could have killed the OE gauge by now, they do not like to be "pegged" for very long. Two minutes of running and it is a half already...humm. Either the gauge is toast or there is a "ground" on that single wire somewhere.
Check that single wire from the temp sender to be sure it is not "grounding" on something.
In a pic or two that you have posted, I also noticed some wire slices on a few things (Thermo B stood out). Check that you got all of those prooperly connected and didn't mix up a connector/wires
when i get a chance i will check to see if its grounded with my power probe. where i got that spliced the connector got messed out so i spliced another one in i think i got it connected good. im just going to drain the cooling system again and get another thermostat. when i did the swap i did not notice the (Old)rad had alot of that Kseal in it when i hooked it all back up that shet got in my engine and probably is causing my problems right now that stuff gunk's up thermostats and cooling ports i did put in a new rad, hoses and thermostat but maybe alot got into my engine and gunked up the new thermostat
well time to put a temp gauge in the car does anyone know the hose size(in MM) the 93 lx uses yes there the same as stock so i can order up a Sensor Gauge Radiator Hose Adapter off eBay
