Hi I've just bought a 90 crx si and the hvac controls don't work on it. The buttons are stuck for controlling where you want the air to blow. I want to know if anyone has had any luck repairing them before. I've only been able to find the face plate repair how to.
Looks like nobody knows. so with little to no knowledge on this i decided to start the tare down process. I've posted a few videos of my findings to youtube in this playlist. I don't know if i'll ever completely fix it but hopefully helps someone out.
here is a playlist of videos. If i make it work I will make a full how to video. Until then I'll just upload Random bits of info.
After realizing that the climate control was not fixable I opted to put in a 90-93 accord one. Here is the diagram I used for making a CRX to Accord jumper harness.

I had same problem with mine. I don't have any install pics but crx community has pics. Previous owner had the center consul gutted by some light fingered car jackers. Who also smashed the front window so climate control feel apart on me when I took it apart.
I'm not a huge fan of how it looks, as the buttons look too cartoonishly large in a crx, but given what the current options are, you gots to do what you gots to do. And if you have an aftermarket stereo, then you have even less to worry about as far as consistency of button sizing/appearance is concerned.
When I had my CRX I went with the accord climate control. I never finished it because I couldn't find a good way to mount it... This was years ago, and I'm a lot more clever now.

Personally I went with that option because its a better colour match then the eg (grey) one which was the other one in the local junkyard. and i'd much rather pay 20 bucks then get an original for $100+ I'll post pictures once its completed.
