Forgot I had this in the garage from my old CRX. I ended up using this exact same setup but with NSX calipers instead. This all bolts right onto your civic for the best OEM big brake kit possible under 15" wheels. With the TSX pads you get no overhang and a perfect fit. You get 2 new 280mm base model mini cooper rotors (4x100)
2 remanufactured never taken out of their packing w/ brackets ITR calipers
a set of Hawk HPS pads for a 04-08 TSX for the perfect fitment

Do you still need to run a 3mm spacer with these rotors?

 

^^^ no sir. The mini rotors are already offset to the 3mm T bracket difference. I'm running them on my EM1 with Legend dual piston calipers.

 

No spacer needed. I used to run this setup on my EM1 before i got spoon calipers.

Note: you really need a 1" ITR master cylinder to maximize this setups effectiveness.

 

So if it's the same size rotor (actually 2mm smaller), and the calipers are ITR, why are you not using ITR pads? I don't understand the overhang aspect... what overhangs?

The pads are too big for the mini rotor.

TSX pads are a tiny bit smaller and fit better.

 

I'm using 04-08 TL pads on my setup.

 

I looked into this once, but I was reading the TSX pads are actually too thick for the rotors, so the dude was saying you had to shave down the pads before installing them?

 

I never test fit it with the TSX pads since I never bolted this on and went with the NSX calipers. Everything I read said you didn't have to worry about that and talked to countless people who used them with no issue.

 

What brand rotors are those?

 

I'd have to double check when I get home. I used centric on the crx but can't remember if these were the same.

Did you upgrade your knuckles to fit these? from what I remember reading, on an EG these wont fit the dx trim knuckle

 

I have this setup on my hatch with ITR brake pads, everything bolted on as expected and the overhang is very minimal. Like ~1-2mm tops.

 

i had an HF crx so I had to use da stuff for b series axles. I think dx does not work according to the article though.
