Advice on f22b going into a Honda Civic 2005

 

No documented F22 swaps I can think of. There's only 2 or so known H22 swaps (which is somewhat similar). The problems that arise with this swap idea are rather costly to overcome, unless you have above-average mechanical skills. Also, this is not a legal swap in most states.

Custom engine mounts, axles, harness, ECU, and any plumbing needing to get it sorted on fuel and coolant. Also, you'll still be 100% illegal in California since the engine is older than the chassis.

You won't have an issue fitting it, since K24's fit all day.

The only engine swap mounts for the chassis out there are for K-series. Oh, and I've been K24-swapped since 2007.

 

And what do you drive?

 

K24 fits, but it is snug. A buddy of mine has his 05 coupe k24 swapped. He had to cut some webbing out from underneath the hood to clear the intake and valve cover and had to trim the core support to clear the intake and throttle body. But it fits and functions just fine.

Honestly for the cost of doing an engine swap, you may as well go the k series route unless you really want something different, such as the f22b you mentioned. The k series route is nearly plug and play using oem & the appropriate aftermarket parts.

 

2001 Civic EX coupe


If you ditch power steering and run a K20A3 or K24A2/A4 intake manifold, no cutting is required. RBC's require some trimming due to runner length.

 

He ditched p/s & a/c, he is currently running a RBC manifold, but picked up a skunk2 ultra street on black friday for 30% off and he plans on using that. I know the 04-05 civics are shaped a bit different on the front than the 01-03 civics, which changes the engine bay spacing a bit and he found out the wiring is a bit different as well.

 

The engine bay spacing doesn't change much, with exception for minor headlight clearances in the corners. Just as an FYI.
