The Official Formula 1 2017 Season Thread
Whenever you graduate from wheels and lowering springs to engine swaps (across eras at that) and tuning turbo cars, lets talk. You have much to learn.
Not sure what's on there. Could be without a muffler completely for all I know. Car is so damn long that there's probably 15' of exhaust piping under there. Priority one is to get the car running reliably at the moment. Needs a few things to get ready to be a good driver.
As far as tastes, you'll like this one. I used to hate imports, couldn't stand em. Loved whopping them with my 442 Clone. Of course I seen the errors of my ways, thankfully at a very early age so it has allowed me to embrace any and all...except full electric. Tool of the devil right there...
Learning how to tune has been 1 of the best things I've done with my car. Granted I haven't tuned full throttle on it but part throttle and tip in to full throttle has been a great learning experience. Worth the entrance fee.

Not sure why they sound so funny. But in person they're pretty loud. Don't require ear protection (although you still should), but definitely can't carry on convo while they pass. But after they pass its bliss.
Only reason I don't like ls swaps is the t56 trans... although the Miata 6 speed isn't much better.
I thought you were cool.
awwww.
Just too espensive and wide. Not sure the novelty is worth the packaging issues and extra cost. But to each their own I suppose. Good chance I skip Coyote and bandwagon LS for funny swaps. Unless already Ford, then maybe. But wood ecoboost V6 instead more than likely.

The only thing I have to base my assumption on is riding/driving a couple examples of each. I'm guessing the S2ks were prolly in better shape which wood make big difference. Weight not as much a concern if swapping in V8 but the suspension is. I will need to find the woman a car to drive around once she feels ready to motor swap GC8. Likely to be a while yet but had been considering Miata.

K series has i-vtec which gives a much better powerband. Also has a bigger aftermarket

My next project will probably be mid engined and that engine us high on the list.
You know, those are blue justifications right?
I like the motor. I like the sound. I like the modernity of it's design. But for my own projects? I'll pass. Everyone LSx swaps because they fit everywhere, make great power, and can be had affordably. The Coyote on the other hand just makes great power and noise. But if you can afford it fam, do it.
That goes for too turky.

Not to mention I just wanted a truck I could get in and go and would not be as tempted to modify. Yet somehow I am already getting the urge to modify. Will it never stop? lol
Sauber vor Honda Motoren-Deal: Ferrari-Vertrag nicht verlängert - AUTO MOTOR UND SPORT
Translated it basically says new engine from the ground up, with prechamber ignition. Honda says they can supply 2 teams in 2018 if given notice by Monaco GP to ensure logistics for delivery to 2 teams. Sauber has not extended with Ferrari for 2018 and would be a logical partner.

Toro Rosso will have a matte painting of the bodywork, following what has been done last year on the Red Bull Racing RB12. Under the new regulation of Formula 1 which requires increased roadways, wide tires, it will be essential to reduce the rolling resistance to reach a good top speed down the straights.
