so I have a b18b1 block. It's kind of been sitting outside for awhile, got it dirt cheap. Got the head off it and most things outside of the block. But I'm stumped on how to get the crankshaft pulley bolt off, done it before when the engines in a car but never with it out. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

 

Toss it in the trunk and take it to the nearest mom-and-pop auto shop and ask if you can pay them to zip it off with their impact gun, you can try the big chains but they usually have policies against partial projects. If they charge you, which they probably won't, it will be like $5. I've done this a few times and they usually do it for free but at least offer to pay.

 

If you don't want to take the block in somewhere, and you have a crank pulley holder..
Find someone who weighs more than 200lbs to step on a breaker bar while the crank pulley holder is turned so that the ground or some other object is preventing it from turning. Don't stand on the breaker bar, it needs an impact/jolt to break it free. I also had another person hold the block steady during all this.
It's definitely not an easy thing to break free.
