Even if he does stay, he only has juan year on his contract. I haz a feeling Merc is not going to break the bank for this year, so they are currently working out a deal for 2018 with juan of the top drivers. Pascal gets a 1-year deal like Magnussen did at McLaren

I think toto & co are just being **** disturbers with the ALO et al talk. It'll be Bo77as if they can compensate Williams enough (he's a bit overrated IMO by Williams, but wood b a good #2 for Merc) or Pascal.

 

They hired Schumacher at a hefty price tag and it didn't work out, so I'm thinking they go for fresh meat instead of another driver 10 years past his last title. I'm thinking they go Vettel for 2018. He's younger and he's german.

They've already committed the ridiculous paychecks to HAM; why have two? Seems silly to have two $30mil/yr drivers.

Although part of me thinks Bauley is right; they overpay for the publicity. Their car was so good they didn't have to pay him that much. And he's a 3x champ instead of a 1x champ because of the car (and britney), so really they've paid for him to be expensive. Kinda cray.
