I'm mostly surprised no one has done a proper LED retrofit projector yet. Seems like the market is ripe.
That would require the entire LED housing. I've looked at the corolla's LED setup because it was a single projector, vs the new accords/mdx setup, but got sidetracked.

I definitely need to start my reading tonight after the kids go to sleep. This "harness" sounds important, wiring and I don't get along to often.
All I hear is Stevie Wonder playing in my head when I see those bars. "isn't she lovely/isn't she beautiful."

As for harness routing, I followed the horn harness under the top of the core support for the crossover portion. I still need to mount the relay, because I'm lazy, but now I am going to wait until the new bulbs and ignitors show up. I drilled and tapped the frame rails behind the core support and mounted the ballasts there, since they're weather proof(ish) and then ran the wiring through the holes in the engine bay for the washer bottle and the intake resonator, since my car has neither.
I wish, my career would be shortened significantly if I let anyone in here! The harness is really simple actually, it's just a matter of sorting out the best way to route everything so the bay doesn't have a bunch of extra out-of-place stuff floating around in it.

Not necessarily, you just need a projector or reflector housing with the correct optics for an LED bulb. Same as what we already have with the current HID retrofit stuff, it's just that no one has made them yet. The ones I did on the Fit were F'ing cannons, (definitely not street legal!), but it was a race car so I just ended up cutting the whole bucket off, welding a bar between the rad support and the frame rail, and mounting them up behind the lenses. I'll find some pics when I get home.

I don't they are the same but it be nice to compare how the LED projectors are between the mdx/accord and the corolla. 1pc vs bug eye.

I lost a lot of interest in Optima when the manufacturing plant changed. They used to be bulletproof, and now they're just meh. I got 4 years of solid performance from my last XSPower, and that was with being forced to run a stereo that the charging system wasn't really ready for. This time around...a lot will change.
Ahh...much better. Cleaned up the wiring a bit, need to order a couple more accessories to get everything final, but it's getting there. Maybe one day I'll clean the engine bay.

Jacob - Nice updates sir!
Decided last week I was going to attend the Vtec Club Big Willow event on the 19th. I've been battling some cooling issues for the past week or two. Which lead to a small blown headgasket. I don't wish to be stranded that far away from home, which led to biting the bullet now and getting it all sorted. I had to get serious this past weekend and made a check list to get these things handled. Without it. I'd forget something- surely. My car is my DD, I will drive it to the event; I'll be taking it easy so, the current plan is driving it home as well. Late yesterday evening she went back under the knife so I could change the head gasket.

This was one of those Love Hate photos. Last pic before tearing her down.
A few hrs later. Today I ended up ordering the new fan, and getting the head off to the machine chop for a resurface. If I have time, I'd like to CC the chambers.
all catch can goodies arrived, I decided to tackle placement today while I await the cylinder head.
Looks easy right? Nope! What a PITA. In my bay this is the only place it can exist right now and the drain plug is easily accessible.

Are you using the original EX prop valve or LX? Everyone freaks out at me for running the original EL prop valve (same as EX w/abs) and I read a lot of threads of people getting into heated debates over what to use with a teg rear conversion
Re: ** The offical 96-00 civic 4dr thread ** PART 3
I ran my stock EX w/ ABS prop valve when I did my rear disc swap, and it felt fine. When I did the ABS delete and the big brake kit, I swapped to the Si w/o ABS just because that's what Honda said went with Rear discs and no abs. I still need to get the ABS ITR brake master cylinder so that it will play nice with my booster.

Thanks for the kind words, it's coming along.
Are all the Catch can goodies K-Tuned stuff or...??? I'm getting ready to swap my radiator as soon as a couple parts arrive from Honda, and am going to be making -16an rad hoses.
Would've been nice to have finally met you. Plus you can't beat good company for the holidays.
Just in time for sales? or nah! LOL JK. I haven't even read up on my RF needs yet and I've already got the bug.

HAHA Thanks.
My car retains the factory ABS. The abs prop valve replaces the traditional 40/40 ( or 30/30 ) prop valves. I have a 1" BMC with a 290V booster. The braking system is comprised of, the dual piston legend caliper 11.1 rotors (F); RSX-S caliper 10.3 rotors (R). Braking in wet or dry is amazing. Even on the track I've either outdriven my abs or I have not driven hard enough to activate them, so no gripes from me about retaining ABS jic you were wondering.

None of this is K-tuned, but it is all locally sourced. Catch can is TTracing. Very well made. Lines generic. Fittings tomato tomatoe.
No fancy update, just cranking away as much as I can. Head came back today. Continued on my my to-do list

Yeah like i agree that mine feels fine too, just curious, did you noticed any unusual pad wear (F vs R) due to drums and discs needing different amounts of pressure to operate? Up here, the CDM EM1 has ABS and was almost certain i had to run that prop valve.

I retained mine too for the conversion, it was easy enough to just connect the sensor wiring to the car's original harness so why not Even with factory bmc and booster, ive noticed i havent gotten mine to kick in either, other than braking while hitting a bad pothole or wet manhole cover. Your setup must be a lot touchier than stock!

No, but then again, I never really paid attention. I knew that every time I did brakes, I still had pad left. I always equated it to a motor cycle or pickup. Front and rear are going to wear differently because of weight and required stopping power. Fronts just go away faster on my car because there is a motor up there.
Really the only reason I did all the work was that I wanted the room and the computer was just in the way. Yes...sacrificed for stereo; however, I did spoon monoblock calipers, RSX-S rotors, and ITR rear brakes while doing my 5 lug conversion all at the same time, so...I cannot really compare the old disk setup with ABS and a particular prop valve to the new non abs setup with a different prop valve, as everything is different.

You know, I was thinking about this a little more (because you guys planted the seed and I've been back to reading up and hopefully will get my retro done sometime this winter!) and I realized that I've spent a fair mount of time with both of those LED configurations.
My mom has an RLX and quite a few of my coworkers have Accords with the arrays, and they are pretty fantastic. Nice wide even coverage, as bright as HID, color is just about perfect if you like a natural white. I also had a Corolla rental for a month when I moved out last year and it was pretty meh. Color was nice but intensity and coverage were both just okay. I would argue that the reflector halogens in the lady's '14 TDI have a better beam pattern and generally better light usage than the Corolla (perhaps a bad example as the Golf has a really good reflector setup in general).

This might be proof of what they told me. I can only assume that the projector in the above post are going to be similar to every other retrofit projector out there, only with either a stationary LED bulb, or some sort of H1 or D2S bulb. TRS told me that while the D2S LED bulb will work in my retrofit projector, it won't be as bright. You probably just experienced what they were explaining.

Still on my first set of pads. No crazy wear just yet. I'll keep an eye on that. I did have to make some adjustments to my driving habits, the car does brake faster with less effort - meaning of BBK in essence. A friend of mine has wildwood 12.1's in the front and rear, I can only imagine how sensitive they will be.
Despite a few setbacks I was able to get the car fired up today. Body aching, I'm still smiling cheek to cheek. After tomorrow's re-tune she will be ready for some road racing at willow springs this Saturday. Only a few minor things left.
