~190mph without some sort of funnel/nozzle/hurricane? nah. Doubt it. But I don't know **** soooooo.
I found something else that referenced 100 mph in Arvin which I can believe and it made me wonder if the 100 and the 92 reports somehow were merged into 192 mph.
"The current evolving pattern has been incredibly complex. Agree
with the previous public discussion comment "seeing models diverge
on a solution within 12-24 hours of the event is increasingly rare
as computation power increases." Also factoring in the relative
proximity of rapidly decaying Tropical Storm Seymour into the mix
and thermodynamic parameters well outside the cyclone may be influencing
and possibly canceling out some of the wet weather potential,
parameters not easily resolvable in numerical weather prediction."

MTR gettin real
LOL
Increasingly rare unless you are talking about a tropical system... Models be having all sorts of issues with them this year.
yeah there would be a lot more notable destruction with winds that high
There was a lot of good destruction but 192 mph is on the high end of the scale for an EF4 tornado. Damage from an EF4 is listed as: Extreme damage. Well-constructed and whole frame houses completely leveled; cars and other large objects thrown and small missiles generated.
Our pal Guenther is all like "lolz whatevs esty bby"

Need your opinion on this. I'm reading a book about a wildfire on Vandenberg Dec 20, 1977. I have found mention of wind speeds of 192 mph in Arvin, CA yet Bakersfield only measured 60ish mph. Also Wikipedia mentions 189 mph in the foothills and 199 mph in passes. This to me seems highly suspect. The wiki article claims they were measured but I'm having trouble chasing down how these speeds were measured. Also I've found other mentions of "estimated" 192 mph in Arvin, CA. People can't estimate wind speed for ****. I've asked firefighters what they think the wind speed is when I've had my kestrel out and they are always too high, sometimes by as much as 100%. I was wondering if you had thoughts on this.
The McLaren shirt and shorts I ordered are too small. The XL shirt is more like a USA L and the XL shorts (supposedly 40" waist) is like a US L (36" waist I think).
I'm going to try and watch FP2 on NBCSN. Wish me luck boys.
I'm watching it and they were just talking about SEB and Kimi playing the trumpet and Townsend Bell becoming a luchador. Really? We can't watch FP2 in peace. We have to watch that ****. What garbage.
