All Honda would have to do is put the PU in the back of a WEC like chassis and say they are planning a WEC entry. The PU's are close enough it would be believable. Then they just say eh we changed our minds lol. That way they could make sure they get downforce/cornering levels similar to what they would see in F1.
este i got a new SKS longboard fender and installed it last weekend, 1.50" PWATs forecast for this afternoon, but i got hit with a shower already this morning. lovin' it.
We haven't had any significant rain in weeks. Looks dry for at least another week and a half. We'll take that given we still have a few rivers in flood.
In the press conference ahead of his home grand prix at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, Gutierrez said he cannot afford to wait much longer for Haas to decide whether it will retain him or not.
"I think Haas have been very clear in the media – they want to wait a few more races," Gutierrez said.
"We are now considering something and it will be important to close something soon as we cannot afford to wait to a few more races."
Queried on the deadline for the decision on his future, Gutierrez said: "The deadline should be in the next two weeks."
Yeah because he's such a hot commodity. Where is he gonna go? Sauber or Manor lol have fun there. I'd be happy to see him go somewhere else. I have not been impressed with him or some of his petulant outbursts.

Options are limited for Haas. They said they don't want to take on a rookie...although Leclerc would be a really good idea. Kmag would really be their best option as far as a driver with experience.
COTA is about a thousand miles from Autodromo. You guys think there should be a bigger gap between them? COTA's reasoning is that the Mexico race negatively affects their attendance. Maybe esty can confirm if a lot of Mexicans from Mexico attended the USGP. To me it seems that the Mexicans are like the North American version of the tifosi and that a lot of those that attended the USGP will also be at the Mexican GP.

You think A. Rossi would've accepted a drive with Haas if he didn't sign with Andretti?
I'm praying to the orographic gods for my ride home today, lads. Even though I ride through the valley of the rainshadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me

"Especially that 'I'm not here to finish fourth', but that's what comes up in my mind. I'm not there to finish fourth at the end of the day, I'm there to win, as a racer.
"But on the radio it sounds arrogant and like I'm not listening to the team, but that's not my message to the team.
"They are always trying to help you, so I wouldn't say it's unnecessary. We'll try to do an even better job."
Verstappen jokingly said that he plans to get rid of the radio button.

Agreed but there are a few options. I would be tempted to give Palmer a try but I'm sure Haas wants to have at least 1 driver from the Americas. Nasr would fit that bill unless they want someone from North America.
Need your opinion on this. I'm reading a book about a wildfire on Vandenberg Dec 20, 1977. I have found mention of wind speeds of 192 mph in Arvin, CA yet Bakersfield only measured 60ish mph. Also Wikipedia mentions 189 mph in the foothills and 199 mph in passes. This to me seems highly suspect. The wiki article claims they were measured but I'm having trouble chasing down how these speeds were measured. Also I've found other mentions of "estimated" 192 mph in Arvin, CA. People can't estimate wind speed for ****. I've asked firefighters what they think the wind speed is when I've had my kestrel out and they are always too high, sometimes by as much as 100%. I was wondering if you had thoughts on this.
While there is no firm answer yet as to what happened – and whether the causes are similar to the brake issues suffered by the team in Bahrain, Malaysia and Japan – it has been decided that a new action plan will be put in place this weekend.
Haas is to evaluate a new carbon material, and is planning some brake modifications too – as it hopes that the tweaks will be enough to allow it to get on top of things.
Here's a crazy idea. Wehrlein to Haas. Say Merc doesn't want him languishing at Manor and want him to work on his race craft moar. I know you think that's nuts and that he could go to FI but rumor is BE wants FI to take Nasr so the Brazilians have a driver in a half decent car.
If the BE rumor is true then the only halfway decent drive left is the second Haas drive (assuming the Stoll to Williams deal is done as being reported) and maybe you could argue the second Renault drive but would Merc want to fund a factory team that is a direct competitor AND would Renault even allow it?
Yes is crazy but not so out there that it couldn't happen.
